My Journey

I have always had a curious mind and a fascination with how things work. That curiosity resulted in an early appreciation for computers and how they worked. I attended University for Software Engineering thinking that I would find great success furthering my knowledge and working towards a fulfilling career that aligned closely with my skills.

School instead was a reality check that my non-existent study habits and sporadic lecture attendance would not result in post-secondary success. I left University after 1 year having convinced myself that programming wasn’t for me.

Many years later in the midst of a global pandemic I found myself exploring programming and web development concepts once again.

I seem to have found that alignment that I was looking for when I left for school so many years prior.

I have spent countless hours diving deeper and deeper into a wide range of technological concepts and have built a skill set that I am confident would be an asset to any development team.

Professional Experience

My professional experience has been spent supporting end-users of software services. Providing front line support to users has given me a deep appreciation for understanding how customers interact with software and how best to deliver experiences that solve actual problems.

Development is so much more than a technology stack or design system. Real people use software in unique and often unintended ways. Extensive customer experience makes me so much more empathetic towards users and their challenges.

Personal Interests

My free time is spent playing video games, noodling on my guitar, and trying new recipes. I also am an avid sports fan, but considering the time I spend looking at stats and my fantasy teams - I may just like spreadsheets.
